Is Satan real?

Yes. Just under the surface of our everyday interactions, hiding in the shadows, clouded in mystery and confusion, the devil and his demons work to overthrow the Kingdom of Heaven and the promises the Bible makes to believers. He knows he cannot succeed in the long run so he does everything he can to receive the worship intended for God. He deceives and lies and tempts in order to displace God from his throne. In this, his only successes come from his ability to deceive. His purpose is to steal, kill and destroy.

“The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10 KJV

Angels, demons,  they all exist.

If we trust the Word of God we understand that these beings are also real. However, don’t have to live in fear of the supernatural. God is supernatural. Christians and many non-Christians believe in the virgin birth – supernatural. They believe that Jesus was crucified and rose again – supernatural. They believe that Jesus will return to earth one day – supernatural. They will believe that “the devil made them do it” and have no doubt that he exists but seem to balk at the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the earth and the power and glory of God to be revealed in this day. We have been given a powerful weapon against temptation and accusation. He has given us His Word to remind us who He is, who we are, and what is true. We must never lose hope in that.

Some verses to remember and reference

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”Ephesians 6:10-11

“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”2 Thessalonians 3:3

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”2 Corinthians 10:4-5

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”1 Peter 5:8-9

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”James 4:7

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39
